bro i was homoerotically cleaning and patching up my friend’s wounds and you ruined it. i was scolding him for being an idiot in an exasperated but fond tone of voice while i tenderly bandaged his knuckles and we both tried unsuccessfully to avoid looking into each other’s eyes until the tension between us became unbearable when you entered the room without knocking and fucking killed the mood. what the hell, man.
“Be careful, would you?” Character A murmurs worriedly, staring after Character B as they stride for the door. “Come back safe.”
B pauses, putting a hand on the doorframe. Unseen by Character A, their face drops. For a long moment, they struggle to pull themselves together and then they glance back. “I always do,” they assure them kindly before heading out. Their smile fades as soon as the door is shut behind them.
A won’t know until it’s too late that B doesn’t intend to come back.
Character A tilting Character B’s chin up to get a better look at their face and the evidence of the fight. A delicately thumbs away the streak of blood by B’s mouth, saying nothing as they examine it. After a brief pause, B’s heart skips a nervous beat as A looks them dead in the eyes. Their voice is quiet and tense, their anger barely restrained.
good shit: when a character with a reputation for being selfish and uncaring gets injured while doing something to protect others
good shit: when they pretend they’re not injured and did nothing to protect anyone, because they want to keep up that selfish reputation
good shit:when the characters they were protecting only find out about any of this when the character collapses from the injuries they’re trying to hide
Best shit: When the characters the were protecting nurse them back to health and immediately start telling them that if they ever pull that crap again they’ll kill them for scaring everyone like that.
